Sleep Therapy FAQ

Woman Sleeping in Bed

Do you offer online sessions?

All sessions are currently facilitated via Telehealth on my secure video platform. There are many benefits of online sleep therapy. Online therapy can effectively address various mental health issues, including chronic insomnia.

How many sessions will I need?

The course of treatment is typically 6-10 appointments, meeting weekly. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is often used to treat chronic insomnia and difficulty falling asleep. Treatment needs vary so you may need more or less than 6-10 appointments.

Do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay provider and also accept Lyra benefits for clients who have access through their employer. For PPO plans, I can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement amounts vary by plan and are determined by your insurance provider.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Yes, you can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds to cover the cost of therapy.

What is the cost?

The cost is $200 for a 50-minute appointment. Please click here for Good Faith Estimate information.

How do I know if I need to see a therapist or a medical doctor?

As a licensed therapist, I specialize in therapeutic interventions for managing sleep disturbances caused by stress, anxiety, and other psychological factors. If you have medical concerns such as sleep apnea or other physical sleep conditions, I recommend seeking a consultation with a medical professional.

No. While many clients reach out because of insomnia or sleep anxiety, sleep is often the starting point rather than the only focus of therapy.

Some clients work with me short-term to address sleep concerns using evidence-based approaches such as CBT-I, ACT-I, and mindfulness-informed strategies, sometimes alongside an already established primary therapist. Others begin with sleep and choose to continue working together as underlying issues become clearer, such as anxiety, health anxiety, perfectionism, work-related stress, or relationship concerns.

We decide together what makes the most sense for your goals, and the focus of therapy can evolve over time.

Do you only do sleep therapy?

Here's a Look at the Bottom Line on Therapy Cost

Therapy is a healthcare service that people often want to guarantee is covered by their insurance plan before scheduling that first appointment. For most people, choosing to start seeing a therapist is already such a difficult step.
